MINISTRIES OVERVIEW

JOHN WESLEY

We follow John Wesley (founder of the United Methodist Church) whose model for believers is for each individual to have a personal relationship with God and then to minister to others.

In 1969, Kurt Kaiser wrote a song called “Pass It On” which encourages us not to keep the flame of Christ inward but to pass God’s love to others.

Ministry is based on the foundation of sharing our faith in words and deeds.

 HILLSBORO UMC MINISTRIES

Music Ministry

Music is a central part in our worship. We have traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs. Our feature guest soloists are Brian Blanchard, Reggie Gerbert, CJ Santana and Linda Rollinson.  Choir will sing on special occasions but due to Covid restrictions, they do not meet regularly at this time.

Pastor's Bible Study

The Pastor's Bible study is indepth with a strong focus on the geography and maps, history, culture and the main message of the text. Our Bible study meets on the 3rd floor of the church with both men and women and there is a combination of reading the word, discussion and instruction of the scriptures. Both Pastor's Bible Study and Youth Bible will reconvene in September.

Women's Bible Studies

We have a Bible Study for women on Wednesdays at 10 AM. They meet in a home. It is a nice opportunity to grow in the Word but at the same time to grow in fellowship with one another. Contact us for further information.

Scouting

Our church sponsors Cub Scout        Pack 73, Boys and Girls Troup 73. Due to Covid-19, they are meeting in various places at various time. Contact the church for more information.
